Im having problems finding headers to clear my volare front suspension under my 1961 ford unibody with a 460. I was wondering if anybody else has done this swap and also had problems. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

A universal header kit might be the best to go with .

I'm working on a 56 F-100 for a friend, with a 460 and a Volare in it. We bought 2 different sets of Shorty headers from Sanderson to try and fit them. They both had issues with the Volare steering, and/or crossmember. Even after changing the steering box out to a Rack and Pinion, they still would not fit.
I started building him a custom set of stainless headers to fit it. Between the front end, and ground clearance, it seemed the best way to proceed.

I did a 53 Panel with a volare and a 460 and used these from Doug's Headers #D629. Of course depending on actual motor location your results may vary.
