so I've learned that the 63 390 was a one year only motor, though i'm having trouble foinding exactly what the differences are. I'm looking for headers, and I'm running into some trouble. It's for a 63 deville. I emailed sanderson, as they were the onyl company i could find that produced one. their blockhuggers are designed for 65-66 coupe devilles, and they will not guarantee fit...but they said i can return them free of charge if they do not. Has anybody found anything that definately fits, or know of anything being manufactured for this motor?

you may be making your own set on this. i have a set of stock 62 and 63 manifolds in the shop . pm me later and remind me and ill match up the 1st gen 390 with the 63 models and see what the diff is. you may need locate some 429 one sto do the same.

will do....iirc, i read that the ports on the pre 63's were smaller. the car has stock manifolds, but thats pretty much the extent of the exhaust system.
