Hello, bought a 1937 rumble seat convertible recently. It has some flexible chrome tubes coming out on the side going into the fender.
Does anybody know whether this was an original extra, or is it just some cheap shower hose?
    Thanks
    Jurgen

Definitely not an original factory option. Someone is pretending to be an Auburn or Duesenberg etc.

At the time that Ford was new, you could buy a Cord with functional pipes like that.

Definitely not functional. I can’t imagine cutting holes in the side curtain and fender just to change the direction of exhaust.

.....Image of my Dad's Sedan taken shortly after WWII. Dress up pipes to emulate Cords or Duesenbergs or Auburns like @X38 mentioned. CCI10092023.jpg
