i once ran a BBS, took alot of money and dedication, it was often a pain in the ass to fix everything to work, designing logon screens etc, also running a forum could have alot of "likenessness" its not that easy often to get everything to work and running it for real online sure can bumb out errors and shit eventhough one has tested it, if anyone isnt pleased with the way things work, negative critisism wont do good , only thing that works is positive critisism, if it hadn't been for ryan pushing this board forward by making a great site (jalopyjournal.com) and having this forum there (yes i know hamb is kinda older then that but most got here via jalopyjournal one way or another, personally i posted a bit when it was ran with primer etc back in 1999 or something but what the heck), anyhow it is easy to sit infront of a computer and get anoyed by some small thing that dont work , but bitching dont do no good, especially maybe 10 people already bitched about it, how fun is that to hear the same thing over and over and maybe its already on its way to be fixed, so i wish people would browse around and check other topics and dont just dive in and moan about speed etc, or atleast sit down and try a little longer, the hamb as a forum has helped me alot, got some good car stuff here and have had quite a laugh sometimes and been inspired by others work and been inspired when people has complimented my kaiser when i posted pics of it things have to move on, its easy to just say oh the hamb was better before or something like that, but was it really? will it feel like that when you get used to the new hamb, personally i was very used to the old hamb, but the new hamb will probally feel alot more at home within a while when i used it more only wishes i have now is that netscape/mozilla will eventually work... anyhow a big thanx for ryan as things progress more forward, the new hamb version with the ubb.threads system seems to have alot of good new features that sure will be to use... cheers daemon
I'll second the motion on lots of good new features. I seem to discover something each time I have been logging on. I like the red colored text on the listing of posts. It really distinguishes the new things from stuff already read. Also, I'm starting to use the "Mark all read" option. It's a good way to push back all the posts you don't care to read.
