sure looks like a 39 chevy, but hard to say for sure, with the photo angles. And the mounting surface...we can't see if there's a flat spot on the mystery headlight, it would take a lot of work to get rid of that, and then be able to chrome the housing.

39 chev would be a guide bucket, but with a flat spot on the bottom for mounting. it looks like yours mount on a ball socket, like my 37 pontiac lights on my 34 coupe. GM / Guide buckets from that era for sure. sorry, i am on the wrong computer now so no pic

  5. Sure looked close. The headlight are sitting in a ball socket shock tower. The big difference I see is thickness of the headlight ring. There is a very thin ring holding headlight in, no way near as wide as the Chevy.

Not saying you're wrong, but I wouldn't be making such a definitive statement based on your pictures. None of them actually show the bucket and ring side on.

if it was not buffed out in the plating process, there should be the GUIDE logo on the very back end of the bucket.

That could be part of the sealed beam conversion.

  9. I took the pics and talked to the guy about the headlights. He didn't know what they were from...just liked them and used them. I think sr100 has the idea...sealed beam conversion and some welding and chroming...makes sense
Wish I would have taken some better pics
