Does anyone here have 55/56 headlights on their 52-54? I really like the look of them and would like to swap mine for some. Anyone know where I can get some pics of this or if anyone here has some for sale? All help is greatly appreciated.

Rocky, Are you talking about the fender extensions or eyebrows as some people call them?

I like the look of them also and found a pair at a junkyard one weekend off a '56 cause they looked to be about the same, but they're not & they are that cast potmetal and can't be welded and are a larger diameter. They will work but with a lot of modification, the top peak is the same but grow to a larger diameter around the bottom of the ring. If you still want them I'll sell you the pair. Hope this helps.

Didn't somebody post this conversion of 55/56 headlights to 52-54s a short time ago.

Copper Top, I don't remember this conversation. If you find it, can you please post a link to it? Appreciate it,

I have a pair from a '55 or '56, there is a slight difference in the two years. I would sell the pair for $10. plus shipping.

I'm not sure what good they would do if they are not a direct bolt on.

What I would do is get one and modify it using epoxy and body filler, them make a mold of the modified extension so you can reproduce it in fibergl***. One mold should work for both sides since the fender extensions usually interchange from side to side.

I found it, it's on page 3, go to " vintage shots " thread started by racerron and on page 3 of that thread is the article scanned from a mag by skoh73.

Hey thanks guys! Now I remember the article! I thought it was in one of the little books I had. Seems like it could be a tough task for me though. They do look really good on there. Thank god for friends that have talent! Rocky

Ahah, I love how the ***le is essentially "easy swap" and then they show the guy reshaping the fender? Oh tech articles

I'd like to see how close they fit on a '54. Looks like I have something to hunt for at the next swap meet.

Also, since they are only making mods to the top of the fender it makes me wonder how similar the bottom of the buckets/fenders really are between the '54 and the '55. My fenders are rusty right under the headlights and finding replacements has been difficult, but '55 patch panels are readily available.

The grill shell is pretty close, you might be able to make the '55 ford fender patch work with some tweaking, but I don't know, I don't have the patch or the fender near me to really see
