Trying to finish up some items on the car. I want to order a headliner. I only have the original center bow with the light. Does anybody know where to find new or used bows? Also if some one could count the number of bows in there car it would be greatly appreciated. I found some universal bows but dont know how many to buy. Thank you.
The universal ones will probably turn out to be a pain,the used ones show up on ebay sometimes,got mine for $35 + shipping there are seven bows plus the domelight support,each bow is a different length and shape so it is best to tag them in order when you take them out( I have a chart how to ID them) 52-54 Ford two doors and four doors are the same. Our member tntrotter is parting out his '54 Crestliner(see today's post),also try Whisky Runner in Theodsia ,Mo a HAMB member, He had several 52-54's.I am going to help Adam at Lopez Upholstery wire His '54 Ford Sunday in Phoenix I am hoping to have him install mine,you have to remove the rear window to do the install per the Ford Shop Manual let me know if you want His contact info.
Hey, let me look in my 4 door, if they are in there, you can have them. Maybe stop by and check out the new 2 door that I got. I will look tonight when I get off work. I'll call you tomorrow and let you know. If I remember correctly, they are still mounted in the car. So numbering them wont be a problem.
Sir I seem to have a full set of Bows. They are a bit on the surface rusty side but they are all there.
Click on www.1954ford.com and click on forums,click on General Discussions,scroll to a post "Re: Headliner bows,look for a post by member "stonewalker" on Sept. 25, 2010 the bows are color coded on the ends and the lengths are posted also,remember the the dome light support(between bows 3 & 4) is not considered a bow.Info on bow replacement is on Page 285 of The 1952-54 Shop Manual.
