    Hey,

    If I had to guess, I'd say it was blind tacked with the little facia panel covering the tack strip for the headliner itself.

    Which begs the question, then, tel me about blind tacking and what that means/how to do it.

    Hey,

    Blind tacking- tack strip, be it thin cardboard, fibreboard, plywood or
    metal is cut to the shape of the panel to cover the tacks/staples that are nailed into the header, cant, backlight or beltline rail. Once the panel is cut to shape, tacks are driven through it, fabric, leather or vinyl is than cut and wrapped around and glued or stapled to the tack strip. Once the wrapped strip in dry, or ready to nail into place, it's carefully held there, while a mallet is used to drive it home into the wooded tacking strip that is located in the header, cant, backlight rail etc.
