I have put a new headliner in my 51 ford. While it was out of the car I sealed around the windshield for air and water leaks. I should have put in a new window rubber but didn't. My question is-the headliner seeems to get air under it and wants to push it down at the first bow. It did it really bad on the old headliner. What else can I do or check for air leaks? Could I be getting air up the A pillers and it be coming through the sunvisor holes and causing the air to get under the headliner?Any suggestions? Help! It's pissin me off. With the windows up it doesn't do it as bad as if they were down. You can't drive a non-air conditioned car with the windows up in Houston. TP
I think the air traveling up the A pillars is definitely possible. How is it getting in there? Cowl or kick vents? Maybe you could just get some pieces of foam rubber and cram them up in the bottom of the A pillar and see if it stops? RASHY
TP you are getting air from the rockers up thru kick panels then the windshield posts.Ive saw this happen...have the rockers been replaced? Maybe you could plug the windshield posts with a shop towel or somethin [just for a test] and see if thats the point of entry.......
I thought that might be my problem-the a pillars. I'll give it a try. I was wondering if it had happened to anyone else. I never thought of it coming up the rockers though. I think they are original. Who knows. Thanks guys. Left turn I'll get you the phone number today and email you. TP
Magoo I'll try the rear pillars also. Ray I already drive slow. Haven't drove backwards in years. I sobered up. TP
