    is thier anthing good to say about 1.72 heads or are they junk?

    Well, if it's windy and you need something to prop the garage door open with, they're plenty heavy enough to do that!!:D

    Ha Ha...they actually work fine on mild, small displacement small blocks, and on the motors with the smaller bores where 1.94" or 2.02" valves won't fit as well.

    For your 350, I'd recommend at least a 1.94" head (World Products sells stock replacement (S/R) cast iron heads with 1.94" valves set up for unleaded fuel for under $400 each brand new.) if you want any kind of performance out of it. The 1.72" heads will work if you're leaning more towards fuel economy or just want a smooth running "cruiser motor".

    there is nothing wrong with a 1.72 head. Even on a 350 they perform fine. You just need to decide what you want your engine to do. I've ported a few and can't complain. E****ally if budget is your major concern, there are people THROWING these heads away.

    it's just deciding what you want to do.
