Anyone heard of Mr Forties? I was told they have a great little hot rod heater kit with a fan, switches, everything and I want to get one, but I can't find this place anywhere. Can anyone help? Do they even have a site?

I was at his site last week and it was down or he is no longer supporting it. I have few other 40' places for you to check out and will post them later tonight, or you can PM me. Howard

I know he is still around and he is listed in the local phone book. Last I heard, he was working out of his house.

    Mr. 40's FATSTUFF
    4270 Hwy 41 East

I see his 40 p/u around town with a pizza delivery sign on the roof (I think it is his kid).

I don't know him, just who he is.

  4. I put one in my `34 roadster.Although I live in Fla.,I
thought with no windows it might come in handy a few early
    mornings in the winter.
    It`s a nice heater.The only problem was it`s hot out,my
wife would bitch about the heat coming from it.I swamped
the gate valve on the hoses and it was the same.I called
the dude(very nice guy)to order another valve(one on each
hose)and he sent it no charge. Now no water getting to it
and it stays cool.If I need it I can go under the hood and
    open both valves.
Got a cool vintage one from e-bay,but most are 6volts.
Check Pep Boy,Whitney, and Southern Rods for cheaper ones,
    Mr 40s arn`t cheap,but are nicer.

    Good Luck ...JR..

Art Barnum, Mr 40, passed away a while back. I met his son at a swap meet. The son is a really nice guy, how much business he is doing I don't know. I don't have a heater in my 40, so I can't speak for the product.

That vintage air unit is kinda ugly. Is it plastic? I like the Mr 40 one because it is metal and has that louvered panel. In a '36 coupe, you're going to see the unit. There's really no hiding it.

Thanks Neal. I called the number and spoke to them. They are faxing me a sheet with specs. $219. I'll keep you posted.

What kind of price are these things? A guy at NAPA showed me a nice little heater and said it would be about $150.00. It had a lower door and 2 side doors plus two round plastic plugs (one on each side) that looks like you could run defroster duct hose.

Just found it on their web site. Retail for $159.
The photo shows it upside down.

$219. They're 4" deep and 8" square with the face panel covered with 3" louvers. Kit comes with hoses, fittings, it has a fan and a switch, and a water shut off valve.

How big is the napa one and what is included?

How did you find that on the Napa site? I hate their site. They always make you specify what year make and model. I couldn't find that heater at all. What's your secret? [IMG]
