Do I need a heat plate for the stock intake on my six with a carb that has a manual choke?? I am keeping the stock intake with Fentons. Doesn't someone on here sell them??? Also, what is the best size for sraight pipes on the six? 1 3/4"?? 2"?? I want it to sound decent but not get me into too much trouble.....

i would say yes to the heat plate, considering where you live (brrrrrr!) i was talking to ratboy about this,i think blocking heat risers on V-8 engines works because you still get the manifold pretty warm from sitting on top, whereas having the manifold "out in the breeze" so to speak on a sixinarow you have troubles with not heating the fuel/air mixture enough for a street engine-george
