Rocky Squirrel......He doesnt own a Corvette,,,,,Has Aviator goggles....must own a Roadster or RPU.....
Here's mine still a 4 dr, it takes a lot of work to do the windshield posts and the inside across the top. The windwings help make the liget convertible look. VW conv windwings and side window glass fit right in a 4 dr merc front door, regulators and all.
^^^^^ I was wondering about VW rag vent windows ! I have 2 pairs of vent windows that I have collected .One pair I am not sure of the origin, the other pair are 52 to 54 Victoria or convertible and they are quite bulky. Nice Merc!
Although I have worked on so many convertibles over the years, I personally have always preferred a painted roof over a ragtop or Carson top.... until I finished a chop on a buddy's convertible that another friend had started but sadly he didnt live long enough to finish.
I have the start of the vent windows installed, as well as the 1/4windows tabbed and installed with the pivots and inside tin. Still lots to do , such as guides channels, stops and regulators. Good thing I have a lot of crap laying around. The thing is to have every thing in the right place to make sure it will work. Then I will have to dismantle it all again to finish and clean it all up .
Carpet for my channeled floorplan. Gold carpet with off white seats and panels with gold vinyl inserts but not yet sure on the exterior paint color. Any ideas? Plan is for a fast build so I can get into the other merc. The column will be replaced with an early 60s column and a 59 Olds steering wheel and a modified 50 Merc dash with a record player and a 60 Chrysler speedo.
