I just got the fenders back on my '29 Model A after installing a Heidts Superride front end (among lots of other stuff).
The problem is that the stock, cast iron fender brace wants to occupy the same space as the big top pivot bolt on the upper A-arm. I don't see any easy way out of this problem.
    Suggestions?

Try calling Heidt's for advice. Didn't their advertising indicate for fendered or fenderless cars or modification of stock hardware needed for fender use?

  3. I have a fendered Model A with an old Corvair independent front suspension. I used the '30-31 type stamped fender brace as it can be cut out, patched etc. to get it to fit with IFS. It will give you a little more installation flexibility than the cast type brace.

The cast and stamped braces appear to be interchangeable as I have a friend with a '31 using the older cast type brace.

The reproduction stamped ones are available from any of the Model A shops.

    Hope this helps,
    PHIL

  5. Yep, worked for me. They actually make a replacement one meant for the IFS front ends that puts a little loop of steel around the bolt and then back to the stamped mount; dont know if it works any different with the superide, but we had to modify it to fit the TCI custom anyway. Sorry, dont remember the brand, maybe someone else does.

  6. I have picture of what i did on my 31 model a pickup.
