Bought time I did an intro. Im Ryan from aiken sc, with a 53 ford mainline. Thought it was a 54 till earlier today. Was doing a big block swap but have changed my mind. Any one knoe if the ANCHOR 2725(L) ANCHOR 2726(R) work on a 302 in a 53? I searched all the post and found the answer for a 54 lol.
Welcome to the group...officially! The '52-'53 Fords are different from the '54 in the front suspension and engine mounts...if that's what the Anchor #s are for.
The mounts are available for your '53 from: www.butchscoolstuff.com note that there are 2 types available and you need to take a measurement to determine which one you will need (call Butch at the times shown on the website for How-To),the most common one uses the dual sump Fox body oil pan on your 302,I have one for sale with the pickup if you need it send me a pm.
Just bought a 91' Lincoln with 64k on it. Has a 5.0 EFI with AOD. thinking of using the EFI and the rear end out of the car for the 53. Cool part is i got to drive the car feel it shift and power brake it for ****s and giggles before i forked over the $650 clams for it. any one need the drivers side of it before it goes to the crusher? My feable mind tells me 650 for it all, and 200 for the crusher so im out maybe 450 for a low miles 5.0 w/ aod and the rear. I thinking the rear is a 8.8, fingers crossed. If so 3.73 gears are in order.
