I've been lurking for a couple years, and a member for about a year. I owe you guys a HUGE thank you. I love cars and trucks, but know very little. I started my research on this site, bought a cab and a bunch of parts from the cl***ifieds on here, and pretty much picked my paint and overall look from pictures I'd seen on here. Every time I'd get stuck, I'd come back and find some previous discussion that helped me through... This is my dream truck that I've been working on for the past year or so. 48 Ford F-5 on a 93 ranger splash (I KNOW...lay off, it's MY dream man!). Kept the ranger floor and firewall and all the guts, dropped on the F-5 cab, fibergl*** tilt front, and new bed, fenders and running boards. Stripped the old rusty cab using orbital sander and a few random rust removers and some wire brushes (pretty much the worst 2 weeks of my life). Turned my garage into a paint booth and sprayed an epoxy primer followed by flat black. New gl*** and chrome goodies. The truck hasn't moved since I started working on it...and tonight is my first drive! Long post - but really just wanted to say thank you to everyone that is willing to share their knowledge and the site admin that help keep it all straight!
