Seems like the most knowledgeable folks online are involved in this message board, so I figured I would seek some knowledge here.
I have a '50 olds with the stock hydramatic and would like to replace the dead 303 with a '58 371 with a J2 intake that I have.
Can anyone tell me what the biggest issues might be with this?
Would the trans bolt to the motor?
Would I use the '50 flywheel with counter weights added?
Would either of the starters work in this situation?
Any other issues I might run into?
I'd have the motor rebuilt, so machining the crank for a pilot bushing won't be an issue.

Thanks much for any help you can offer!

It's a bolt in, drill the crank for the pilot bushing & re-balance the flywheel. Starter gear must match the flywheel gear. '49-'53 or '54 & later.
    Exhaust is on you.

Thanks much for the help. I was hoping it would be fairly straight forward and manageable. I expect some headaches, just don't want to get half way through and curse the day I started or wish I had kept the 303.
I'll keep reading all the old posts, sooooo much good info here.
    Thanks!
