Sooo, here goes... I'm a new guy from Amarillo, Texas. Not just new to the H.A.M.B. but to all discussion boards. This is literally my first post. I've had my 1950 buick special 8 for about two years and have managed to keep it up and running against all odds. I had no experiece at all when I got the car but I brought it home anyway. I really want to learn. I've been reading posts on this site on and off for a while and thought it would be a great place to pick up some info from time to time. I'm not sure how much I can offer in return though. I got my buick because I'd never seen one like it around these parts. The grill full of teeth and the giant straight 8 motor sold me. Since it was painted a weird maroon/violet color my five yo son named it the purple people eater and it stuck. I've since painted it black and done some work on the cooling system, fuel lines and tank, rebuilt the carb and other little things. Its coming along but not quite the daily driver I want. I'll post some pics later...if I can figure out how.
