hey, my name is James and i'm from melbourne, australia.
currently i own a 1978 buick regal, which is pretty rare for round here, but im not here to talk about that.

my dad has a 1938 ford pickup which i'll post some pics of shortly, only just starting the build, so far we've got the cab including doors and bonnet, wont be using the bonnet though, and a 41 willys chassis which will be boxed and Z'd soon, thats the next step.

look forward to spending some time on here, looks like theres some good info so far.

  2. Willys frames are pretty flimsy compared to a Ford. Something to consider before you invest time in it. And just in case, don't mention Holden, Mitsubishi etc front ends round here, especially if you're thinking fenderless! What's wrong with the hood?

it wont be getting any sort of front end like that, just a simple suicide front end, drop axle etc...any of that stuff doesnt even come into the plans when building a traditionally styled hot rod.

dont need a hood when you got triple carbs sitting uptop,

i know most aussies like the boydster billet mobiles, but i'm not one of them. dont worry.

well not most, but thats all you generally hear about.
anyway, starting fresh, its good to be here, didnt think i'd see so many aussies! i'll post up some of the 38 pics during the week when i'm back at the shop.

  6. The words Australia and Billet dont mix too well on this board. youll find all the guys on here very likeminded. welcome from the northern suburbs and goodluck with your projects.

    Rhys.
