After reading Ryan's "read this first" thread it reminded me of a talk my ex wife's dad gave me prior to my first date with his daughter I am 61 years old and watched with awe the lead sleds and jalopy's that were on the highways during my childhood. When I grew up I was going to build one of them, but as often happens life got in the way. So now that the kids are all grown and having kids of their own i have a little time time and very little money to pursue having a hot rod. Having tired of the run of the mill cl***ic cars with bolt on kits to make them go fast, handle better and stop safely I decided to be different and build an unwanted body style without the use of kits in the style of good ol hot roddin. This car is my daily driver and I'll go into the details in another thread. Next week I will be making a 2000 mile trip to pick up the next project. It was advertised here and you could call it luv at first sight. A 1950 Buick Special 2 door Jetback. After it is home I'll let you know more about it, until then thanks for letting me in, I'll try not to irritate too many members
Welcome from Yuma. I drive to Tucson at least a few weekends a year for the shows at Hooters and Little Anthony's. If you have never been to Little Anthony's, it's usually every other Saturday evening during the warm months. People show up with everything from show quality cars to works in progress. Maybe check it out. It would be good to see a '50 Buick there.
WOW it has been years since I went to Little Anthony's. PM next time you head into Tucson and I'll meet you at one of the shows. What kind of car do you have?
Yes I have I am the annoying person that used to work for the power company that wants to buy it from you Was that photo at the Hot Rods in the Hanger show? I was there in 08 and loved the concept.
