I'm excited to be joining the gang. I'm hoping to gain some knowledge and experience as a buddy and I are about to start on my AD 1950 Chevy 5 window. I have had the truck for 40 years (since I was 13 years old) and it has never run. My father bought me the truck and towed me home on the backroads where I sat on a 5-gallon pail and proudly wheeled it home. I lost my dad 2 years ago and realizing life is too short to not enjoy the truck, I'm motivated to get the project going. I know I'll be reaching out to some of you with questions along the way considering the amount of experience within this community, or at times lurking in the background drooling over some of the rods here. Thanks for having me
Welcome, Welcome! I'm in your area, just outside Sherwood Park. My dad has a 52 Chev pickup we build 2 decades ago and I have a 46 GMC pickup that I built in 2012/13. I'm interested to see how you progress on your pickup and will lend you any help that I can. Are you planning to keep the Stovebolt 6?
Hey 05snopro440, I know the park well! I'm right next door in the Capilano area. I have a 5.3 with a 4L60e going in. I have been collecting parts for a while and plan on getting things going in April, it will definitely take time before I'm on the road.
Cool, you are close by. I drive past Capilano mall 3 days a week to/from the office. Sounds like fun!
