We finally got a '54 3100, 5 window, 4spd hydramatic, all original! My best friend in highschool (mid 1980's) had a 54, i new i would have one someday too. just didn't think it would take this long! Just a few years ago, at the old age of 41, the doc told us that i had parkinsons. that explained why it was so difficult to work under the hood. but that got us thinking, better get that old truck i always wanted before its too late. had it for a month now, my hands can shake all over and its greate 'cause theres so much room under the hood and i can't damage anything. love that American iron!! wife gutted most of the cab interior, i did the 12 volt conversion, pulled the seat frame, pulled the tank (it sat for 16 years!), cleaned the carb, new brakes, e brake cables, put new tires on it.....it WILL be on the road in two weeks. My kids can't wait to drive it. one has a license, one has a learners permit, and the youngest , well, is our only boy and he's gotta drive it too! look forward to asking a lot of questions. maybe even answer one someday.
Come on in and sit a while and enjoy the HAMB Plenty of sharp knowledgeable people always willing to offer help and advice. Best of luck. Jimbo
