Hello from Midland, Texas. I am 57 years old and have been a lumber yard foreman (10 yrs), owned a tool store (19 yrs), worked as a surgical ***istant for Ryan's dad (7 yrs), and taught Ryan everything he knows about cars. I currently work for the Chaparral Gallery of the Petroleum Museum as the Chaparral Car Spe******t. I also do some custom fabrication on race cars and hot rods. My interest in cars began when I was dropped on my head as a baby. Obviously there was some brain damage. I currently have a "50" Merc, a"62" Impala, a"67" Triumph Chopper, a motorized barstool, a "HopRod", and several other motorized toys. When I figure out how I will post some pictures if anyone is interested. Thanks: Diceman
Welcome diceman ! That's cool about you and Ryan. I also lived in Midland 1980-1981 and again 1985-1986. Don't remember many rods though; mostly Ferraris & Rolls Royce's (oil boom). I ran around in a frogeye Sprite and a BMW R60. Those were the days, eh ?
I feel like the bum in the group! Grew up in Odessa, short stint in Austin. High school split between Permian and Lee. Yes, i'm confused. Cut my teeth on bikes at Penwell and 9-mile. Spent weekends on the drag in Midland and Odessa. I may have dated myself. Oh! This is about you! Welcome!
Welcome Diceman. I was introduced to the H.A.M.B. by Doc C. one morning down at M.P.H. I think I have seen you there a few times. Are you going to enter your cars in the Cruiser's car show next weekend? There is a group of car guys that meet at Jumburrito by the mall every Saturday morning about 7:30 or so. Most of them are vette guys so we certainly need more hotrods. I may have to miss this Saturday (GF wants to run in a race in Big Spring). I will see you around. Bo
