I thought I should introduce myself since I have been casually reading this forum for a few years but just recently decided to start posting a little. My name is Matt and I live in Billings, MT. I am 25 years old but have always felt connected to an older generation where building stuff from scratch and using your hands was better than buying everything. I have been into cars and hot rods since I was a little kid and I backed my mom's Chevy van down the driveway while she was unloading groceries. My dad has always been into cars and there has always been some cl***ic iron in our garage. He has a 59 Chevrolet Impala and a 1972 Plymouth Cuda that we have rebuilt together. I make my living as a mechanical engineer at an oil refinery so I get to design alot of stuff all day but in my free time I like to work with my hands and build things. I am trying to learn to become a good welder and machinist but I have a long way to go. My current stable of cars includes a 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS and two 1932 Chevrolet 5W Coupes. The Impala is a fully running, cruising car while the coupes are mostly just shells at this point with big plans ahead. I joined this group to learn some tips and tricks from the hot rod community. Thanks in advance for all the answers to my questions. matt
Montana's a good place to keep a few projects going out in the garage. Eleven months of winter helps. (10 1/2 in Billings, the Montana Tropics) (I actually stashed half of a '39 Ford transmission in my check through bags year before last at Billings airport ... with the other half UPS. Good folks.) I like Billings ... and Bozeman. Will be out when the run-off subsides and the creeks start to clear. Welcome.
Welcome man.... Spent years living in Missoula and down The Bitteroot... Ill move back soon....Missoula, Bozeman or Livingston. Even though alots changed... and You sometimes take it for granted. Montana is the best place to live...period.
Hey, welcome from Nebraska. I lived in Bozeman for 15 years. Montana is a great place. Sounds like you have some nice cars. This is a great sight and you should find lots of great info here.
