Hi there, my name is Lee and I am from the big smoke of New Zealand i currently own a 73 Ford Falcon Wagon (australian), I put a nice 302 windsor in it, gave it a coat of paint and shes a great cruiser.

And I have just purchased but yet to pick up, this 51 Ford Victoria. I have been looking for an earlier American for a while, and a friend of my grandads had this. I have always loved the hot rod scene, although I dont really see the 51 as a true rod... But I will certainly enjoy the nostalgia aspect, gives me a break from the 70s of the wagon. The 51 has a 289 windsor in it, with alot of little helpful electric nics and nacs. i would really really like to put a manual gearbox in it, but for now will just lower it as much as I can and hook the lake pipes up I think.

Yeah thanks, are there a few kiwis here are there? I am from Napier, so not to far from you Magoo. I think its also pretty cool being 20 and owning these cars, whereas most guys (and girls) my age would have some jap turbo thing with not alot of class.

Crazy how you find so many people in little old NZ on a world wide forum huh, let alone your home town. Whats the best way to lower the 51? Blocks in the back and umm angle grinder designed front springs? I have read they suffer from bump steer though.

And could you get a Victoria in 4 door or were they only coupes?

Hi Lee, Nice wagon. You don't see too many over here in Skippy land these days ( unless you are in a Ford club:D ) . How long has your Spinner been in NZ? . I left there decades ago to see the world and haven't been back since 1980. Miss the kina and Toheroas though. :p

  11. Welcome from Texas! I like the wagon, haven't ever seen one, kind of looks AMC-ish from teh front. Y'all have some cool looking cars over there.

For an every day car you certainly dont see many early falcons do you. The 51 has only been in the country for 2 years. I went to kumeu at the start of this year, and took a car load of crayfish and paua with me to cook on my tailgate! Was so sweet.

Thanks for the comments guys, cant wait to get the car and tinker with it.
