After a couple of years of reading the forum, its time to get on board! One of my favorite parts of the H.A.M.B. are the stories of rod & custom history.I have been collecting memorabilia for years and have been wanting to share it on the H.A.M.B. I've been a hot rodder since 1966, starting with a chevy powered model A roadster and continuing till today. Some of my stuff has been posted by Jive-bomber (offy patterns, vintage racing photos and programs.)I was also honored to have Rikster post a story on my custom 40 chevy convertible. I look forward to being part of the community. Rod&Custom Ron Castro Valley
Hi Dean, Great to hear from you! Everthing is good here. How are you and your Dad doing? Its been years since I've seen you guys. Ron
Man, what took you so long? Welcome from a neighbor in Berkeley! Look forward to seeing you around the hood.
Hi Ron. good to see your name out there. I thought you were still in hiding. This guy has a great collection of memorbilia, and loves to talk about it, luckily for all the rest of us. Bob Abrew
Dean, Hello from your home town! I remember you and your dad quite well. Don't know if you recall, but I painted your first car. You had a pedal car and I painted it black with silver trim. I spent many, many hours with your dad in the garage behind my house. I'm sure I was a pest, at first, but eventually graduated from handing him tools to actually turning the occasional wrench on the '40. You guys actually made a trip east a long time ago and visited Race Street for a short while. Talk about automotive memories. I could go on for hours..but...I won't. I hope all are well. Jim
R&C Ron...I want to publicly thank you for the opportunity to visit with you and your bride on Saturday, and thank you for providing us with a few of the "holy grails" that we have been searching for. We were very very impressed with your collection of literature, photos and hot rod/racing memorabilia. I have to believe it rivals any collection out there. Your 40 Chevy is amazing and your 34 is going to be just as impressive. We had a great time, and appreciate your interest in the roadster, Thanks again & Welcome to the HAMB, you are a huge asset here.
I grew up in Castro Valley on Dolores st, but went to Hayward High. Welcome. I'm in Mountain View now, But I'm often at RPM Mufflers #2 on Mission. Kent always has something interesting on the rack. We went to grade school together...
