Hello My name is Alex and I've been a lurker for a while as I am interested in hot rods, but don't really have anything to contribute to the forums. I'm 19, live in Redlands CA, and Ive been working on engines in some form or another since I was 7. I've been restoring a 1915 Model T Touring car that used to belong to my grandfather, but was p***ed on to me when he died in 04. Its mostly stock with a few simple mods such as rocky mountain brakes, a Ruckstell rear end and a later hogs head to allow a starter motor. I was for a short time working on a 53 Sunbeam Talbot, but we are trying to sell it to get a running vehicle for getting to around to school and stuff. I'm hoping to be able to start on a hot rod of my own soon as the T can only really get up to about 35 comfortably and as much fun as it is I would like to have something that can do freeway speeds. I have at my disposal a Packard 384 straight 8 that my grandfather had as a spare for his (now my mom's) 29 phaeton it needs to be rebuilt, but I think it would make a *****in engine for a roadster with the right trans so I'm trying to save up to get started on that
welcome ! this is a great place with a lot of very talented guys! don't be afraid to ask questions and when you get some time post some photos of the Model T
