Hi all, I've been an avid consumer of the HAMB for years now, but never quite grew the balls to start posting... Well, I've hit a wall as far as my Mojo is concerned, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and start posting!! I've got a 1960 Humber Hawk (Kinda like a quaint, British take on the '55 Chevy) that I'm part way through restoring/kustomising, and since my son was born 10 months ago, I've been more than a little distracted with the build... Anyway, I'll post some pics up and ask for advice in due course, but in the meantime I'll be looking around for inspiration... Here's some pics of the car... (This is quick photoshop of the plan... Mild kustom with a subtle drop, Watson-style scallops and shaved handles) Thanks for your time! M
Welcome Miles, from the highlands of Scotland, soon, I hope (when our house sells) to be moving closer to our son Nr. Holbeach Lincs. Which part of Norfolk?? BTW nice Humber! Your MOJO is probably under the bench in the garage. Go find it! Charlie.
Thanks for the kind words guys! Hey Truxdelux - Holbeach isn't that far from here in the big scheme of things... Hope to see you at some shows... We're just north of Thetford, next to Snetterton Racetrack. My MOJO has a good inch thick covering of dust at the moment... Reading through the build threads on here have brought back some of the shine though! Cap'n Scarlet - I must admit, whilst I feel more like a Limey these days, I'm actually a Canuck from near Toronto... I struggled to upload pics last night, but managed to get them to work today... Here's some for starters: After the relatively uneventful drive home from Boston in Lincolnshire to Suffolk (where we lived at the time) Ran like a sewing machine (before I found the grot and had to take it off the road) Got plans to replace it with a 3.5l Rover V8 though... Bench seat needed upholstery Time to move house and get started on the kustomising! (after finding a lot more rust repairs than I had anticipated) Yippe! rear screen seal failed, causing most of the rear floor, boot floor and rear inner arch to rust through! (didn't care at the time of purchase though - had my rose tinted glasses on!) Someone in the past was a master with the Body filler... Even made some fake welds for good measure...
Hi M, We will be coming down to the "Supernationals" at Old Warden 7th-9th Aug. We leave on the 4th and will be at Paul's (our son) place on the 5th. Since my truck is no where near finished yet we will be in Irene's Chrysler powered Morris Minor. Will you be there? We will also be at the "Nationals" in Ipswich at the end of Aug. Charlie.
Heading to the Supernats at Old Warden on Sunday and will most likely be at Trinity Park in Ipswich on the Sunday aswell... Got a pic of the morris Minor, so I can keep an eye out? Unless a miracle happens, the only interesting car I'll be bringing is the Tot Rod push-car my son will be rolling in!
