Hi, I stumbled across this place by accident while searching for parts. I have since picked up a bit of knowledge lurking here. I have been building tube chassis rock crawling buggies for years, but late in 2009 stumbled across this big 1949 Dodge truck hiding in filthy conditions and slowly filling up with mouse and rat shit and thought it deserved saving. I thought it make be a nice, bare bones, with a bit of old world cool, truck for my girlfriend to cruise around in so I hit it with the shrink ray, replaced all the rot with steel, replaced pretty much everything with locally available gear, and here it sits with a few little tasks and some wiring needed to have it done Cheers...
Welcome from the great white north. Great truck...It's all about the fun. Want to trade winters ?? -30C and two feet of snow !
No thanks We get to about -8c and sometimes get one or two days of light snow a year, that's cold enough for me.
I showed the pics to Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup, and she was impressed. Henrietta likes to see old trucks put back on the road. She and Ozelle the '55 Ford send friendly horn honks.
