Hello I just thought I would introduce myself. I go by The Stickman everywhere I go. I am talk and skinny although not like I used to be. I am more into road racing but not with your normal vehicles. I started out with an S-10 that I made into quite the cornering machine. Then I got into Fiero's but again I couldn't follow the normal path. I had to be the 4 cylinder guy. Some of this may have started with my first car which was a 74 nova with a straight six which I loved. Made some good power by adding an exhaust, intake and carb. Atleast I thought so. Anyway I was into Fiero's and loved the Iron Duke 4 cylinder but loved the Super Duty version better. At one point I had a ton of SD-4 parts. Now I just have one complete engine a spare block and misc other small parts. I only had one SD-4 that ran and that was the one that came in My IMSA Bodied Fiero. See I suffer from Migraines pretty much daily to the point I can't work. They started long ago when I was running my truck. I was doing track events with it and wanted to go to the next step of real racing and that is where the Fiero came in. But that was also when the migraines started to get worse. So it was at a point where I would work Monday thru Friday trying to fight off the migraines to get thru the week and when the weekend would roll around the migraines would simply take over. So no time to work on them and no time to un them really so I just would do car shows with them when I could. Then the migraines got so bad I lost my job. I ended up being out of work and filing for disability but that takes time. Which means the wife had to really work her butt off to keep us afloat. It was a very tough time. But finally I won my case and now atleast I don't feel like a huge burden on my wife. So with my settlement check we decided to get me a car to use for daily transport. But I couldn't have just any old car. We found a 1984 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. Satin black, dark tinted windows, and red rally wheels with baby moon hubcaps. I great looking car that if I had an attack I could lay down and crash in. Well it didn't take long for this car to become a project. My wife encourages me to build it as it is a kind of therapy. It get's me out of the house If I am feeling well either to work on it or go places with it. Now I want to do road course track events with it providing my head co-operates. But we also bought the wife an Olds Wagon. In part to pay her back for all she has done for me. So now we are a 2 Olds Wagon family. I am looking to do special things with each, starting with Fuel injecting mine. I want to put EFI on hers but want to use a dual quad intake with dual TB's so I can mount her scoop on them. I would alos like to do twin turbo's on my car. Thanx for having me.

welcome to the hamb. you need to do some reading about what the HAMB is and is not. then decide if you and your cars are a part of this culture.
not trying to discourage you,but to encourage you to seek out a niche for you and your cars.

I understand where you are coming from. While my cars may not be the type of the site myself and the way I go about building my cars are. I am a Hotrodder that just likes going fast left and right and standing on the brakes. I am not just a bolt on kinda guy. I look for oldschool solutions. I am also using older engines to do what most would use an LS for. So I need to be creative. Which is where this site comes in. And I think there are some on this site that would be interested in my 4 cylinder knowledge as I see there are a bunch that like to use them. I think your term is "bangers"

Welcome from Wisconsin. Stick around for a little while Stickman. Theres a wealth of knowledge here about the "old" way of doin things. You just might get into why we do what we do the way we do it around here. ( or not.)
