It's a pleasure to join this interesting and informative site. I have a 1935 Ford 3 window coupe which I restored myself over a period of 34 years starting in 1974. The theme then was originality, but now that I've retired it's time to make this car reliable and a bit more usable. My concept is a late forties hot rod using parts available from the period, so while I know quite a bit about the 35-36 original stuff, I know I've got a lot to learn on the subject of upgrades and improvements. My end use for this car will be comfortable highway cruising, so that will guide the selection and nature of the mods. I like to do most of my own work, although I'm a biologist by trade, not a mechanic. Based on what I've seen of the site it looks like there are lots of hands-on folks here. Cheers, Island V8
