Hello everyone from the big "O." Omaha, Nebraska that is. I was turrned on to the HAMB by a guy named Barry who answered my ad posted on Inliners asking about finding a serviceable 261. I am currently deciding on a direction for my 1962 C10. It has a 235, with a 3 speed on the floor. The previous owner did not want to repair the column shift, so he cut a hole in the floor and dropped in a Hurst kit. Other that that, it is completely stock, right down to the painted steel wheels and dish hubcaps. I want to keep the straight six in it, perhaps update the brakes to power drum all the way around, and am propbably going to just make him a 20 footer instead of a full on restoration. Yep, it is a him, not a her. My wife named the truck "punkatruck" because it is sort of a very faded red, and looks orange. So pumpkin got shortened to punka, and so punkatruck was born. I bought the truck after a long search in and around Nebraska, and came up with very little project material that was running for a decent price. I am hoping to finally get to have the hotrod that I never had as a kid, without contributing to the skyrocketing prices out there. I am hoping that once my newbie probation is over that I can continue the search for a 261 here on the HAMB. Thanks for reading my intro post, and thanks to Barry for referring me to the HAMB.

Welcom to the HAMB. Good to have a fellow Nebraskin' on the board and truck owner. You have stumbled into the right place. The folks on this board can help you with almost anything and are happy to do it.

Post some pictures of the truck, so we can get a look at it. Also, you might want to ask if anyone with photochop it for you and give you some ideas on what to do with it.

Lots of folks runnin straight 6 motors on here....but arnt you a little tempted to drop in a V8???
