Nah, just some folks having fun. It was in the 70's here Tuesday and in the teens today. Too cold to do much in the shop unless you have to. It is always a good idea to proofread your posts ,though. Sometimes it is just funny, but sometimes the question you meant o ask or the point you meant to make will get lost in the clutter of mistakes.

Can't believe the ignorance here regarding a geographic and culture area. Great car culture in the Four Corners and some impressive craftsmen. If you can't post something nice, don't post anything at all!

I'm not looking for a fight and I hope you get your information. But, to be fair, you the OP asked about the area and you also were the one who said you only wanted to speak English. I don't think anyone was being ignorant and no one said there was not a great car culture and great local craftsmen. It was pointed out that there might be issues with employment due to a dependency of the region on a depressed petroleum industry. It was also pointed out that there some issues with substance abuse and also that a significant portion of the population speaks Spanish as their primary, or at least, alternative, language.

I'm not clear which of these observations is not helpful to you since you are moving to the area?

Like: "It's a wonderful place. There weather is always fine and it's shirt-sleeve/top down weather all year. The women are beauiful and the men are handsome and the kids are all above average. The schools are fantastic and everything you could imagine to buy is right here. There are cruise -ins every night. Everyone gets along and there is full employment at really high wages exceptt for someone with "15-18 years of experience in the paint and body world and powdercoating and tig welding and turning wrenches." Can't wait until you get here." Hope this helps. :)

5window, don't get your panties in a bunch cuz I know you are just trying to help. Even though Denis and I both live in Durango, about an hour north, I get to Farmington pretty often and have a pretty good feel for the place. Durango is only 18,000 people which is pretty small compared to Farmington. Farmington is the big town with big shopping which draws people from probably a 150 mile radius. That's where we have to go to Harbor Freight which is strategically located next to Hobby Lobby.
There is a large Hispanic population but that's everywhere. There is a larger native population made up mostly of Navajo with some Ute's thrown in. I'll tell you what, there is nothing like working with a funny Navajo. These guys are a riot.
It's not a bad place to be if you have to be somewhere. I wouldn't score it high on the picturesque meter because it is high desert but a lot of people like that. But it is close to a lot of cool stuff.
