Looks like an aftermarket box section frame so it's a in effect a kit built car. It's all down to how it's titled. Nice looking though!

No money has been out anywhere. They are expecting $5k when the funds clear from Carvana Tuesday.

Your in the land of Dry Tin so there's probably some real gennie rides for similar dollars...but steel 32's are pretty up there depending on the model.

A lot of the rides on our classified are listed by our membership maybe all, but you can see how long they've been here in the profiles...I excited for you...1940 Tudors are pretty sharp looking and many fall into your dollar range...Model A's are less pricey and can be pretty sharp looking rides and give every thrill a Deuce can...but I understand the allure of the Deuce...I've just been more open especially since hanging around here...

It's on consignment, and while there is nothing special the engine is a new 383 blueprint, I got the dyno from BP and the exact engine. The guy put the new engine in and then blew out the trans, so it was rebuilt to handle the extra power.

I have buddy that is a retired DPS Trooper that I messaged for help. Assuming the title transfered fine does not mean a trooper or another state would have issues if i ever had to sell.

37-39 Chev Coupes have been popular nasty Hotrod material too...so just keep your eye out and by all means keep your budget and remember wheeling and dealing is part of purchasing so something at 25-26 may be in reach.

So everything is too low, then the question is can it be raised without hitting the body. I don't mind having to modify things especially for the price. But again, I had not noticed that. And why I got here and asked questions. I knew there would be guys on here to stear me!!!

    Thank you...

    Welcome aboard.
Just so you know, "kit car" is not part of our vocabulary here, a lot of people like to put labels on various genres' of cars, we just call them hot rods.

If it is an assigned VIN on a FL. title get a picture of that number/ tag on the vehicle. If so, you should be fine with that when transferring to AZ. I know in CA. it would not be a problem.

I'm a bit unclear on what you meant. That is not a Ford number for a 1932. A 32 Ford didn't use a tag, it was stamped in several places on the frame.

But Ford had certain number layouts in 32. A factory flathead-V8 serial number always starts with a 18, then a special star symbol, then more numbers, then ended with another star symbol. Ford never used letters on 1932.

I don't recall what a factory 4 cylinder number starts with, but someone here will know, however, those never used letters either .

Thank goodness you asked before sending 5k to this dealer. I can't imagine the nightmare of trying to get financially whole again if the car failed inspection and you had to get a lawyer to try to force them to refund, and who eats the transportation both ways if they did take it back. Life is too short and you have other bucket list cars, forget this one, please.

Again, that is not an assigned number from any of the 50 States. A State will assign a number but not something as silly as that. Not to say you couldn't get it registered in some State that doesn't have intelligent people doing the vin checks in person. If it went to a State that doesn't need a vin check if a current title is presented, then it could get by. But where are you down the road if you need to sell out of that same State.

There is a 38 on Hemmings w a rebuildable 327 and 4 speed with the original straight axle so it could be raised to get the right height but it is in some rust belt state. Says it's solid in the add. And at $10k it would be a good project but I have a bad hip and back. So not in a position to get into a restoration. Which is why I sold my 71 Firebird. Had pulled the engine, 383 that I got some of the aluminum Dart 210 clone heads, roller rockers and a nice Schneider roller cam. .540 lift 230 ish and a 108 LSA. Got a 9 inch rebuilt w 3.50's and a Detroit true trac and mossier 31 spline axles....then got hurt in the middle of putting it back together.....

I think one of the previous replies said it was a legit Ford VIN tag. Just on a car with nothing Ford on it....

I have things better to do with my time than try to sue a dealer selling a car on consignment from a private party.

  23. I enlarged a few photo's and spotted the oil pan being below the scrub line like Jim pointed out, flat tire and you will damage the oil pan, the frame appears to be a Model A and shows some pitting when you enlarge the photo.

It appears the body has been channeled over the frame, the body normally sits on top of the frame.

I am a long time Deuce guy and knowing what I know if it were me I would keep looking, there are reasons why it's priced lower than most '32 roadsters. HRP

Copy that, I think I will investigate this further before I throw in the towell. Cause then wife gets involved and she found a Metropolitan that she thought would be better...

I don't want to have anything to do with a metropolitan unless it's like the below.

It is a terrible idea to buy a hot rod from half way across the country without seeing it in person. who ever built that did not know what they were doing.... you can tell by how low the engine is mounted...

No, Ford never used a tag for serial number on a 32. Never happened.

Some are also saying it could be an assigned number and they can register it in their State, no it's not a legit assigned number.

Sometimes this place is a cluster f of misinformation . They might mean well, but you need to protect your own funds, rather than "picking an answer that makes you feel good" (about trusting the purchase.)

Ok, now that's more of a red flag since you elaborated. I have seen that Australian guy on youtube that people bring in their beautiful new to them classic that are just screwed all up underneath....

With enough dissenting information my outlook changes rapidly. Unfortunately we are now there.

Would have made a nice ride for Santa and Mrs Clause.
