Here's a comparison picture of a '40 fender and '39 Deluxe fender. The one with more metal in the flange area is the '39.

3. Moon disc (optional)
4. 2x2 intake w/new 97's
5. Isky cam
6. Finned aluminum heads (your choice of brand)
7. Install big smile and drive on

That's pretty much my exact formula.

 

That mock up is *****in'.

I love moon discs on wide whitewalls. Lately, I've found myself digging full wheelcovers (Stude, Olds Fiesta, even those old Plymouth pointed center ones) on pre-war cars.

 

Wish mine was black...
