I am newly signed up, however thank you to everyones post as they have helped me so far. I purchased my classic car 6 months ago, a 1939 Pontiac Special 2 door Sedan. I have went through the process of getting it titled with a bonded title, as I purchased it with none. Very easy process here in Wisconsin compared to what I originally read and thought. I am currently still coming up with a plan of what exactly I want to do with it. It is currently in mostly its original state with no modifications, and about 99% complete. The previous owner picked away at it over the last 30 years, and had the body off working on the frame. It has the original inline 6, running, and I have tons of extra parts.

I am currently at the point of a dilemma of what I really want to do with it. I have always wanted a street rod, however I have a hard time with this car as it is all original. My thoughts however are that it would be more of a pleasure to drive and more reliable with a newer v8 motor. Would like to keep it all Pontiac, so have thoughts of a 326 or a 350. No decision has been made yet, so I continue to just make headway on the body.

What is everyone's thoughts on here? What would you do if it was your car? I am also curious about the suspension being able to handle more power. I am sold on converting to front disc brakes, and have found kits for around $400. my concern is how the suspension will hold up, would prefer not to modify and put on a new front stub. But, would hate to spend the money to convert, then find out I need a new front stub.

Thank you everyone for your input, and experience on here!
