I'm new to social media so please be patient with me. It seems this is the place that may be able to help so ...... I have a 55 fairlane with a 351w sbf stock streering box. I would like to buy factory ceramic coated headers that will fit. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thank you very much, Kurt
may want to check the FAQ section.not sure on the coating but may show the headers if any.then you could check with manufacturer as to coatings. welcome to site

I have a stroked 351W in my 56. I called Sanderson headers and they set me up with a pair of Mustang headers that worked great. The only difference is I'm running a Borgeson steering box and the header is close. I'm not sure how they would fit on a stock box. Give them a call. BTW, welcome!!!
The exhaust flex tube i setup for my 223 is running close to my steering box. I think the heat is causing the lithium grease I filled it up with to soften/melt and not being static, I meen it runs a bit through some portion of the steering box. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks
Sent this in response to your im, but I thought I would post it here to help others potentially as well. Let me know if I can be of further help. Thanks, Chip I'll see if I can offer any help; however, I have a 54 Ford Customline with 351W so not sure if they are the same ch***is. If they are, the first question would be what did you use for motor mounts as they could position the headers in different location. I used 84 Mustang V8 mounts in the front position. There are really only 2 choices of headers that I have seen used and I tried each of them and ended up modifying one of them. If you are just looking for a street header and not worried about performance the Hedman 88400 is what everyone uses. It doesn't interfere with a 302, but one tube does hit the steering box with a Windsor block. I ended up dimpling that tube with a socket and it turned out fine and cleared. Easy header to use and run exhaust to, just plan on dimpling the one tube. I don't feel there would be any loss in power or performance in a mild to stock engine. BUT that's what I was concerned about with this header since they are 1/2 tube with 2 1/2 collector. My 351 is stroked to 393 cu in with 10:1 compression, aluminum heads etc... and I thought it would be too restrictive so I tried a header someone else said would fit, but they had it on a drag car I believe. The headers were Patriot Exhaust H8433 headers. This is a 1 5/8 tube header with a 3" collector, but it didn't fit perfect either and I still had to "slightly" dimple a tube. The real problem was that these headers are longer and run farther back in the car close to the firewall, and they angle out away from the openings in the frame. I ended up having a friend that builds headers simply cut the collectors off and move them back about two inches and angle them more towards the inside and they fit great. I had the car running with both and the second header made a HUGE difference in my car. Idling and revving the car was significantly improved. If you want to look at my photo album on my profile I have pictures of both headers and what I did to modify them. It may give you a better idea. Hope this helps. if I can be of further help Let me know. Thanks, Chip
I used butch's cool stuff motor & trans mounting kit. I'm leaning towards the patriot headers. But I used a lokar gas pedal & cable which exits at the base of the firewall and could be a problem. I'm trying to buy ceramic coated headers that fit rather than steel ones & adapt them. I thought headers coated from the manufacturer lasts the longest? Thanks, Kurt
Chip I went to your photo album. Your car is BEAUTIFUL. The pictures were just the help I needed a huge help. Thanks you very much
This is the Patriot header like his with the coating https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pte-h8433-1/overview/make/ford
This picture shows the Lokar cable coming out of the firewall on my '54,as long as you drill the access hole so it will allow the cable to be level and parallel you will be good to go. This was taken before I put on the HEDMAN 88400's.
Jeff, Thanks for the info & picture. My throttle cable comes out at the petal base (firewall base) I sent a picture
cka7, Nice job on your car. The sanderson headers on my 56 are a bit restrictive so I may try the modified Patriots. It looks like you are not far from my son who is in the Air Force and stationed at Fort Walton Beach. The next time I visit I would enjoy seeing your ride. Jerry
Hey Jerry... I am right by Eglin Air force base in Niceville. Only 10 minutes from Ft Walton which is where I actually grew up. Give me a shout when your in the area and I would be glad to meet up with you.
Wow that's closer than I thought. My son just got back Sunday from a 6 month deployment in Africa. When I plan on coming down next time I will contact you. BTW, my wife and I really like that area and put it on our list of possible retirement locations.
