For years I've kicked around doing a 50s something either a truck or a tri-five. For probably 15-20 years I've occasionally came on this forum to look up different things. In that time I've always wondered how in the hell anyone uses this place with the obscene amount of censoring. Today I signed up and realized the **** goes away if you sign up and log in. Anyways hope to finally pull the trigger on something next year, figured I'd post so everyone can have a laugh about the censoring issue.

In the beginning, this was the wild west. We have tried to keep things PG for more than a decade now. The hard censoring is a recent thing (Nov of last year). The site got smacked hard for AI finding stuff and removing ad revenue. It fell on Ryan to create a program to censor it from view without login. Which is why P*** and Peek aren't spelled out for outsiders.

I'm sure I'll be safe. I dont have much to post about but I can appreciate rules and board culture. Most forums are dead and Facebook is awful. Glad y'all are keeping it strong. Hopefully I'll have more to say and post in the future, probably not the right spot to post about a pro touring Cutl*** build and a 97 Viper lol. I'll go back to being a lurker but now I can read the damn place without all the ***

@72cutl*** Ryan just this past year (EDIT: IN 2024) has ins***uted the Off Topic (OT) section. Much looser rules on the car content, but same civil guardrails and people.
I think right now the plan is going to be something of that era as a clean driver, not a big project car. I don't have time for anything crazy. I paid a lot of BOP tax for things on the cutl*** over the last 20 years, the viper is its own special snowflake for parts too. The idea of being able to build a car reasonably affordable from a catalog is appealing as a nice change of pace for me to be honest. Right now the Cutl*** is going out for paint for the 2nd time since I've owned it, when it gets back I'm gutting my silly high school interior and going stock and letting my wallet recover for a year or so before I go into whatever this 37-60 Ford/Chevy adventure winds up being. I say all this but it'll probably wind up being something stupid like a studebaker or packard because I'm an idiot.

Maybe keep your eyes & ears open for a tri-five Plymouth or Dodge. Should be a fairly painless buy-in for a driver quality ride.
Nice, I'll keep those threada in mind. I don't know what it'll wind up being just with the other stuff being "done" and the other one being paid off next month. I'll be due for a bad decision in 2028. I'm a car junky from Mitsubishi **** boxes to Willy's coupes. I just feel like going old is the right move for the next one. I appreciate the warm reception. Well I imagine it's good to go through life with a plan. An attainable goal, of sorts. I didn't realize that the HAMB was censored in this manner if you weren't logged in as a member. Can't think of the last time I was here as just a spectator. This type of censorship doesn't really bother me that much. I figure that most people are generally exposed to too much **** on the web anyway and probably enjoy a little break from it. But thinking about this I also feel compelled to share this slightly too long and semi-obscure story. Some years ago the fine folks at SPAM introduced a new product called Mez****a. It was a sort of cheese spread mixed with finely shredded pork and roasted red peppers. (Better than it sounds!) So I decided to go online to try to find out just how this new product was best used. The most direct approach was to simply do a search for "Mez****a", but it came up with some puzzling results. The first page returned warnings of "adult content" and displayed several heavily blurred sample images. Very odd behavior, I thought. It took me a few minutes or longer to figure out why the search engine reacted to my request in this manner. But I eventually decided that it had an issue with the very word "Mez****a". I don't want to spoil your fun trying to figure it out yourself, but the screenshot you posted above supplies a clue. I wonder how the HAMB's new AI ***istance will respond to this post?
Hey @72cutl*** First of all, cool that you figured out how to NOT see all of the ads! Second, and this is just a suggestion, you might want to look through your stash of photos you have and use something cool that you like for your avatar, because that default one, of the lame dude in the helmet with the ? on it, lets just say, its lame! I too noticed the "***" and to be honest I was somewhat surprised, as I thought the US (unlike the UK and the EU) has left that sort of thing behind by now. Obviously it'll take a few more years to get rid of the PC detritus
I my self am trying to collect the whole set. 60 Bonneville tri-power convertible, 57 Pontiac Chieftain hard top, and I just bought a 55 Buick Special (like me) from Cob. Just a Chevy, Cadillac and Oldsmobile away from the whole set!
It's not really a censorship thing as much as the non-human machines that read through websites to decide were to place ads don't know the difference between a **** site and a hot rod forum where people occasionally say ****nuts. Nobody's worried about offending anyone with naughty language, it's catering to an algorithm that delivers ad space based on a low ratio of swears to overall word count.
Did you guys notice in the screenshots of the original post it censored the middle of the word “do***entary”? Do***entary. Made me giggle.. Like dang what dirty words are imbedded into normal words LOL
