Hi folks! I'm a first time old truck builder. I live in west central Indiana, almost at the IN/IL state line.I'd love to hear from other rodders. As I said, this is the first time I ever got so far into a vehicle.I stole a '57 Chevy shortbed with a 400 small block (with 4 bolt mains) in it.I had the heads gone thru and thats all I had to do to the engine.I put a Quadrajet on it (just to say it was a 4BBL). I am almost ready to put the front end back on. I wanted a solid cab so I took it off and had it sand-blasted (boy, what a shock that was). While the cab was off, I had the frame sand blasted too and then painted it with an encapsulator.I put discs on the front and new drums on the back.I also put a dual master cylinder on it, but kept it under the floor board. It has all the brakes I should ever need.I kept the spring front end because I liked the simplicity of it and it rides pretty good.I've gotten to know many people at the parts houses and salvage yards and always enjoy making new friends. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!
