I am just about finished with a very traditional 1934 Ford P/U. I am using a 1956 Ford steering box, column, and turn signal switch. It has six wires coming out of the switch 1)blue 2)yellow 3) white 4) red 5) light green 6) light green. Does anyone know the proper wiring schematic this these six wires. I'm also using an e-z- wiring 12 circuit kit. Thanks Gary.
I know the standard Ford car colours from that year. The six are: Blue is incoming from flasher unit. Green is incoming from brake light switch Green with white stripe is LF signal White with blue stripe is RF signal Green with orange stripe is LR brake and signal Orange with Blue stripe is RR brake and signal Now you need to figure which is which on your scheme. One green should be the brake light switch in feed. Using a test light, Apply power to one of the Green cables. You should get light at the two rear cables at the same time for brakes. If not then try the other Green. When you do get power at two at the same time they are the brake lights, hence rear cables and you know which green is from the brake switch. Remove power from the Green. Now apply power to Blue cable and operate the switch in L and R positions and test the rear cables you just identified. If they both work individually in there respective positions then you can see which is left and right. The remaining two cables are for your front signals and you can identify them again by applying power to the Blue and testing in both positions individually. Here is a cut from a later shop manual
