I need help here. I tried to search for my answer but to no avail. I bought a pair of fender skirts that are supposed to fit 36-37 fenders. These are the flush mount originals. I have a 35 and thought that the wheel opening was the same as 36. These fender skirts fit the top of the opening but about 6 inches from the bottom they start to move inwards. The gap ends up being about a 3/4 to an inch front and rear. It is still real close to the shape of the fender opening. What gives? Are these for a different model? maybe 37-40 had a different wheel opening?

Photos would help. Maybe you need to play with the rear fender brace lengths.

Yeah i could take some photos when i get home, but they look like the flush mount ones. The problem can be fixed by fender brace. the opening for the wheel is too long. Id have to stretch the fender skirt or shrink the opening, if that makes sence. the fender skirt says 31" on it. Ill take photos when i get home

you have what we call is a early 35 ford fender a very round corner on the front of the fender by the running board. i do not have any knowladge on the rear part of the opening. out of the 100's of guys who buy our fender repair sections every year only a few per call us that they have a early 35 round corner fender.

so if you have to have skirts then the fenders will need to be changed to later 35 or 36 ford. i doubt that they made a skirt for the early fenders.

    hope this helps

are fenders themselves unaltered? (ie not previously subject of a repair?)
