Help ..... C10 not low enough.

    I've got me a '65 c10. Its my avatar. I really want to get it lower. Obviously bags are the way to go but I was wondering what some of you did with your c-notch in the back since the frame is not of a standard dimension, or straight angle. Any pictures??

    Has any replaced their front k-member with one from a newer truck?

    Im hoping to get my truck down like this one. Thanks guys

    go to 67-72 chevytrucks.com then go to your year truck or do a forum jump to suspension. lots of chevy help there,do a search

    You can swap the front crossmember for one up to 87, but you will have to Z the frame in the front to get it all the way on the ground.

    suicidedoors.com has a notch for curved frames from 67-72. this might work for ya!

    http://www.porterbuiltstreetrods.com makes the drop member for the front, and I think he has a bolt in c notch/link kit for the rear.

    A few years ago there was an article in one of the truck rags showing a kit that would let a guy notch the front cross member 1-1/2 inches and set the frame rails down into the notch to get lower. There were several steps including raising the upper control arm brackets an inch and a half but it didn't appear to be all that difficult.
    I have thought about doing that on my 71 GMC 3/4 ton as I only want to get it down about an inch and a half in the front.

    yes, they do that kind of lowering on 60-66's around here WAY too often.:(

    Low is good, but laying the body on the ground looks stupid and serves no purpose. I like my stuff to look good driving, not parked. Aren't trucks supposed to be able to haul at least a little stuff?

    It certainly isn't traditional hot rodding.

    I have seen dino's trucks and that drop member from porterbuilt is absolutely bitchin. I wouldn't think twice about using one on my truck.

    My truck lays body and still has a full bed floor. Not as much depth as there used to be but I still haul all kinds of stuff with it. helped a friend move the other day and took it to the dump with some yard clippings even with the 22" billet wheels.

    Oh and I might add that I think my truck looks good both on the ground and at ride height. So it looks good parked and driving. It is all personal preference and it sure isn't for everyone.

    I agree that it ain't necessarily traditional, but damn does it look good.

    Porterbuilt has some pretty hot shit. Definitely go to the 67-72 site. Not just that generation there. Great info all around.

    Suicide Doors just came out with a complete raised crossmember kit thats similar to porterbuilts dropmember.

    They are running a special till the end of Oct. for $700 after that the price goes up to $999 Does not include tubular control arms (can use stockers) or rack and pinion. Comes setup with sbc engine mounts and new trans crossmember

    I will be running this kit and taking advantage of this introductory sale offer.

    Its gotta look good all the time. I like the trucks with 20's but that's not for my truck. I'm keeping my steels. Part of it is some security. Trucks have a habit of being towed off in the night here in NM. TRY AND TOW MY TRUCK NOW FUCKERS!!

    Mine is going to get some heavy duty bags. There is only one way to trailer your hot rod and that's behind your other hot rod.

    Does any body got pics of some rear suspensions set-ups. Just fishin for some nice clean ideas
