help...caddy 331 overheating

    so I had just assumed that the overheating was coming from a bad thermostat, but I took the water outlet off and there wasn't one. I also flushed the raidator and everything is clean in that. put on new upper and lower hoses...still overheating. the water pump seems ok because it isnt weeping or spitting anything out. it looks absolutely tight.
    what else could this be?? I am thinking maybe timing??

    put a thermostat in it or a restrictor see if that helps

    If that doesn't help look in the radiator for bubbles. The heads have a tendency to crack by the valves. They can be fixed by someone that knows what they are doing. Both on my roadster have been fixed and no problem so far.

    ok Ill throw a thermostat in it...no bubbles in the radiator and no oil. I was worried about cracked heads or blown head gasket
