I am wanting to Chop the top on my 52. I have done a few straight pillars but this big bubble looks like it might be little more intense.
    Any tips would be great.
also I am 6"4" whats good chop that still has good ride to it. I was thinking of 4" front and 6" back? anything helps

    Hey cutthroat,

Do a search on chops & top chopping, here on the HAMB. There has been a number of these chopped, and some with some good pictures taken to show what went down.
@ 6'4'' good luck with any chop you choose, most chops are designed for a guy that's like 5'8''!

man at 6 4 you gonna have to section the seat frame. check out my thread on my 50 pontiac chop. same roof as a chevy but im guessing you have a 2dr sedan so all you have is a different side window.

That four door is going to be a challenge to get looking right. My truck is chopped four inches and the seat is set fairly low and I look through the top of the windshield when looking straight ahead. Before you chop it you might want to find someone with a similar body style (49/52 Chev) that is chopped and ask to sit in it so you can get the feel of it. The number of doors doesn't count there just if you are going to be comfortable sitting in the seat and looking out the windshield for the length of time it takes to drive from Houston to Austin or Dallas and back.

If that car were mine I think I would pass on the chop and put that effort into making it the slickest little Chevy four door in Texas. Nosed and decked, filled seams, frenched lights and perfect paint along with a great stance and the right wheels and tires and interior.

  6. check my profile. I took a four door and made it a two door and chopped it 3 inches. If your up for a lot off work go for it.
