I'm glad I came across this thread, have had a set of his headers in my watched items for some time. I had a couple questions and have received no response, glad I didn't pull the trigger and order. Thanks guys, you saved me a great deal of frustration.
All, I see this post goes back a ways and even the most recent is from 2012. Just wanted to let everyone know that Dan King is still out there and still ripping people off. I have been helping a guy at work get his 34 chevy going the last few months. This car was purchased new by his grandpa and has been in the family that long. Anyway, He somehow got hooked up with Dan King, sent him $900 2 months ago and has still not seen the headers. He filed a credit card dispute and they are now looking into it. He could not get a hold of Dan until he stumbled onto a Chico's Customs link somewhere. Basically it appears that Chico is a friend of Dan's who owns a muffler shop in CA. He called Chico's and the guy handed the phone over to Dan, who then promised him the headers by last Friday. NO LUCK. Then he called again and Dan told him he was sending pictures of the headers tonight (Sunday) and that they were almost done. NOTHING! So, he is still out there stealing from good, honest, hard working hot rodders. Gotta be some way to stop him?
It is amazing that so many hard working, honest businesses are failing and yet jerks like this guy somehow keep on going. But I guess if you just take in money and occasionally send out some product when someone bitches enough, the profit margin can be pretty good. But sooner or later you rip the wrong guy off and bad things happen to you. I knew of a guy who ended up in the trunk of a car over stuff like this. Don
