Okay guys. It seems the 54 239 Y-block has two size cam bearings/cams. I can't seem to find the large bearings. Egge thought they had a set but called back to say they didn't. They are searching other vendors for a set. The OD of the bearing is 2.182 and the ID of the bearing is 2.052. I've checked Mac's and Dennis Carpenter. Googled it, ordered and returned a set from NAPA (too small). Has anyone had any experience with this?

The 54 Ford Y block 239's had two different block stampings... one was EBU (large cam bearings) and the other was EBV (the cam bearings you had to send back). I will bet you have a block stamped EBU? Contact Verne Schumann... his outfit is bound to sell those bearings. I think it is listed under "schumann sales and service"... sorry don't have a phone number but you may be able to google it?

Think the difference was where the block was cast and machined, Dearborn or Cleveland. This may help when you say: " I'll take Y-Blocks for $1000, Alex "

Yep , if you have any question about a Y block that no one can answer , then he is the MAN to ask ! Ted Eaton is another one to ask !
