I have a 55 ford 4 door and the front frame crossmember where the lower A arms attach is rotted out, anybody know where I can get one or someone have a bent frame[hit in rear] they would cut and send the front crossmember??????????? I beleive a 54 55 56 are the same.
Try google, I think thats a pretty common problem and I believe someone makes a repair panel for it. Few hundred bucks I think, but I am almost positive it's out there.
53 is not the same, 54-56 is what you need. There is a repop replacement out there, I think it's kind of expensive, but it needs to be done. This is a super common problem with these cars, it might be tough to find a good replacement used.

Try Chalupa55 here on the HAMB. He was talking a few months ago about jigging up to make them for HAMB members. If he can't help you, try Goodell Fabrications 918-636-7071. One way or the other you'll get what you need.
Sounds like a good excuse to stick a clip or another IFS of some sort under there, actually. ***uming that can be done for the customer's budget, but at $400 for the part it might not make much difference versus a Jag IFS or a later car frame clip.
