I have a 1957 f100 that I have been working on all summer and finally got it legal and on the road for the first time today! BUT, the generator light came. I got home and left it running, the generator sounds like it has dry bearings. Now I dont know the first thing about generators. Any suggestions???? (preferably cheap ones!) THANKS
take if off and have it tested for output.... as for the noise....sounds like the bearing are bad. new bearings and brushes should be available .

If one end has a bushing there will be an oil cup.
