Hot Rods HELP..getting old numbers to show up.

    Ok need those old time tricks here..The #'s are all but gone on this manifold.
    Tried the rubbing way but not coming up good enough to really read. Anyone have any old school tricks that would help?

    Acid and heat is how they bring up block numbers on engines that have been decked.

    a little muriatic acid and some heat should do it. dont leave the acid on too long though, and douse it with oil after. heat it up, brush on the acid, wait a minute, and clean it off, then oil it

    It's definitely a hipo 409 manifold.
