I picked up these Airheart calipers and aluminum hubs. The hubs are made by Racing Brake Specialties, the bearing seem to fit 40 ford spindles, bolt pattern 5 on 4 ¾. The caliper bracket doesn’t fit over the ford spindle. I was guessing 60-70s drag racing, specific. Has anyone seen these before, I searched online but haven’t found anything. Especially the hubs.

Yeah, try a '32-'36 spindle. They have different length spuds over the years, but the diameter is the same.

The PSI logo looks like the one used by the company of the same name in Rosemead CA from the 70's. The company was owned by Gene Scott. His successor, Jim Gordon told me a few month ago that the company had been purchased and was going to be revived. They may be able to help too.

pretty sure speedway keep parts/pads for the calipers or at least they used to. i had a pair which went onto a 40 ford hub/spindle but they were sold on when i put a later disk conversion kit on the car.

have a look at their website - http://www.airheart-brakes.com/index.html if you contact them they may be able to help?

  6. Thats a pretty big chunk missing from that one rotor.

Most of the guts of Airheart calipers are off the shelf O-rings and snap rings. Most that I have seen just need to be taken apart and cleaned. Pads aren't cheap though, from speedway or from any decent place. If Airheart is unhelpful or doesn't have any parts, wilwood offers some pads and other stuff that fit.

Thanks guys for all the help. I’m not so much trying to find spindles that fit, because I can just remake the caliper bracket, I’m mostly want to know the history. These parts fell in my lap. I wasn’t looking for them, so I’m trying to paint the picture in my head as what style and era of car they would have been used on.
If I decide to build A 60s’ style open fender model A drag car, I don’t want to use these brakes if there a 70s’ vintage. I really don’t know anything about AirHeart, Or PSI.

That finned hub looks familiar. Look for pics of the Tom Prufer track T. Didn't it have similar hubs sticking through the Halibrands? Maybe another magazine featured car?

The rebuild kits for those Calipers will run you $330.00 with new pucks. Do not spray WD-40 on them and use ONLY Castrol LMA Dot 3-4 Brake Fluid. Here is my whole dragster.
